Prof. Laure Fournier, radiologist at the Georges Pompidou European Hospital (AP-HP), describes the involvement of medical imaging in personalized medicine in oncology. The main functions of morphological imaging in oncology are the diagnosis of tumors, the assessment of the disease, the monitoring of the efficacy of treatments and finally the interventional radiology which consists in the treatment of the tumor guided with the help of the picture. Functional imaging offers more and more opportunities with the development of techniques around big data. All these imaging techniques contribute to the development of personalized medicine in oncology.
