The project CARPEM is managed by Prs Pierre LAURENT-PUIG, Michaela FONTENAY and Dr Judith FAVIER.
Pierre Laurent-Puig, MD, PhD, is Professor of Oncology at the Université Paris Cité and since 2004 Director of the “Personalized Medicine, Pharmacogenomics, Therapeutic Optimization” team (Cordeliers Research Center, Inserm U1138).
Director of the Paris CARPEM Cancer Institute, he also works at the Hôpital Européen Georges-Pompidou, in particular as head of the oncogenetics clinical unit within the genetics department.
Michaëla Fontenay is Professor of Hematology at Paris Descartes University – Medical School and responsible of the Laboratory of Biological Hematology of “Hôpitaux Universitaires Paris Centre”.
Her research activities focused on the pathophysiology of myelodysplastic syndromes within the Inserm unit U1016 in the team “Normal and pathological hematopoïesis” at Cochin Institut.
Judith Favier, PhD, is Inserm Research Director (DR1), head of the Inserm team Genetics and Metabolism of Rare Cancers (PARCC, Paris).
Her primary interests are the fields of rare endocrine cancers and rare forms of renal cell carcinomas. Her research work aims at deciphering how mitochondrial dysfunctions can promote tumorigenesis, through metabolic reprogramming, pseudo-hypoxia and epigenetic modifications, addressing both fundamental and clinical questions.
